Build a Set of Working Agreements
Define how the team will work together: communication norms, expectations, and mutual accountability commitments.
A working session where the team creates a set of shared agreements for how they will work together. Most teams operate on unspoken norms that were never chosen, just inherited or developed. This workshop makes those norms visible and gives the team the opportunity to decide together which ones to keep, which to change, and what new agreements will guide their work.
We Will Work On
- Surfacing the unwritten norms that currently shape how the team operates
- Naming what is working well and what creates friction
- Drafting clear agreements around communication, decision-making, conflict, availability, and mutual expectations
- Pressure-testing agreements against real scenarios the team has faced
- Designing a process for revisiting and updating agreements over time
This Workshop Results In:
-
A written set of working agreements your team created together, ready to implement.
Designed for: Intact teams. This workshop works best when everyone who will be held to the agreements is in the room. Works well with 4 to 15 participants.
