Boundaries
A deep practice intensive on setting and holding limits that protect capacity and preserve relationships.
About This Intensive
An extended, practice-intensive session on the skill of setting and holding boundaries in mission-driven work. Boundaries are often framed as personal self-care, but in organizational life they are structural: they determine how much any person or team can carry and what happens when that limit is reached. This intensive teaches participants how to set boundaries with clarity, hold them under pressure, and communicate them in ways that preserve relationships rather than damaging them.
We'll cover:
- The difference between personal boundaries and structural boundaries, and why organizations need both
- How to identify where boundaries are missing or routinely crossed in your work
- How to set boundaries with supervisors, peers, direct reports, partners, and community members
- How to hold boundaries when pressure mounts or guilt is used as leverage
- How to communicate boundaries in ways that are clear, direct, and relational
- How to support others in setting boundaries without undermining your own
You'll leave with:
- A personal boundaries assessment for your current role
- Language for common boundary-setting scenarios
- A plan for reinforcing or establishing boundaries in your work
Designed for: Leaders, managers, and practitioners in mission-driven organizations seeking professional development or continuing education credit.
